After church and lunch today, Ian and I went on another date! Grocery shopping! Woohoo! :) It was the most relaxing grocery shopping trip ever. Ian didn't even boost our grocery bill today like he tends to do sometimes...he's an impulsive sweets buyer. I made him avoid the candy aisle today though. Fighting those temptations one aisle at a time!
While we were at Super Target, we bought some lights for our Christmas tree. So once we got home Ian and I put the lights on the tree and then we all started decorating! It looks so........pitiful! Haha! Definitely not like our cute tree at home. :( After a moment of feeling sorry for myself, I decided that while this Christmas will be different, it will still be our Christmas, and it will be as great as I want to make it! Even if we have an unusual Christmas tree and a house that lacks the normal "decked halls," we still have love, generosity, excitement, hope and faith -- we have everything that makes Christmas - Christmas!
When we got home, I started on supper. I was so excited about it! While I was watching the Food Network the other day, Giada (long Italian last name) roasted a pork loin topped with a honey mustard sauce then wrapped in pieces of bacon. We tried it tonight...oh my goodness was it easy and delicious! Probably not very healthy, but I guess you can't really be that healthy when cooking with bacon!
Ian and I decided to go bowling with the CFA crowd in Port Charlotte tonight. I'm so glad we went -- we had a blast! It was great seeing and hanging out with everyone again. But my most favorite part was the drive with my best friend. I love driving in the car with him - especially longer trips. We actually have a chance to have a nice, in depth conversation! It's a good chance to reconnect. Couples need that every now and then, huh?
(My camera died tonight while taking pictures of our "Florida Christmas tree!")
