Almost Ready!

[slideshow]

Tomorrow morning we are heading to the airport to pick up my parents! We are all so excited! We have a full week, but I know it's going to be a ton of fun. I can't tell who's more excited! Ian and I or my folks! Cayman's just excited about going to the airport...I think he thinks he's going to fly again.

A lot went on today! It was a busy day for us. We visited a new church again, and we loved it! There were people practically meeting us at the front door of the high school (where the church meets currently) to welcome us, guide us to the right people, show us where to take the kids, give us a little tour of where they meet, etc. One of the same guys that led us around before the service (and even held Charis while I registered her for her age group) happened to meet us afterwards and introduced us to the pastor and his wife. Pretty unheard of in such a large church. We left Charis back in the kids' area this time - mainly because it worked out well with her schedule this morning. She was one of two kids in the babies' room - so I wasn't concerned about leaving her. They said she did great; her number didn't pop up on the screen in the auditorium (signaling she needed her mommy); and they even were successful in feeding her her food -- something Ian and I have been unsuccessful at this weekend! Cayman had fun too - apparently he got to go play in the bounce house because of good behavior, so I guess that's good! (Unfortunately, I think he was reminded of some bad habits while he was there today because he was a little booger the rest of the day -- well, not horrible...just screaming NO at us and even hitting me once!) We thoroughly enjoyed the message this morning! It was very inspiring...and straight from scripture which Ian and I enjoy quite a bit. The church has been involved in 2 under-privileged neighborhoods for the past 3 years now. For the next 5 Saturdays, members of the church will be going to the neighborhoods and doing special things. Yesterday they did a pig roast and took family portraits. Next week, they're doing a medical day - dental check-ups, diabetes tests, eye exams, etc. Ian and I love the fact that the church is big into service and ministry. The whole message today was about Jesus traveling through Samaria - how Jesus journeyed into the land that most other Jews tried to avoid. The pastor compared Samaria to those two neighborhoods. Sometimes we see neighborhoods or cities or places like that as places we want to avoid. But Jesus set an example for us to go straight to those places; to sit for a while and talk to the people - build relationships with them - minister to them - meet their needs. It was definitely an encouraging sermon. I think we'll be heading back to that church. Oh yeah! And they passed out a booklet of all of their small groups (seriously - it's like a magazine...they have small groups for all types of people...Bible studies, Ohio State fans, BBQ lovers - no, I'm not joking!) and I have contact information for a stay-at-home-mom's playgroup. So I'm looking forward to checking that out with the kiddos!

Let's see. After church, we had to go grocery shopping to get a few things because we were having some friends over for dinner tonight. I got everything I needed to make a pot roast (I borrowed a crock pot from my sweet neighbor!) We rushed home to put the pot roast in so that it would be ready by 6:30. Our friends got here around 5:45 or so. I asked Ian to check the meat at 6:15...it was NO WHERE near done! So of course we did what everyone of you would do...ordered pizza! Oh well - it was still fun! We were so glad that they came over - we've missed them!! And Cayman got to play with his little buddy, "Dudah" aka Judah. :)

Oh yes. I almost forgot. Ian broke our new wagon!! Well it was an accident of course. Rolling down the plywood ramp at the end of the street with Cayman probably didn't help matters. I told him later that I'm pretty sure those wagons weren't made to hold 150 lb men. Yes people. HE rode down the ramp with Cayman! :) It was fun for 2 days...............
