[/caption]Grammy wanted to take Cayman somewhere special this morning. We decided that a game of bowling was just what he wanted to do! I think we were right. He had a blast. I think he really wished we would have just let him bowl the entire time instead of insisting on him waiting his turn so often!

[/caption]Cayman has finally gotten on the independence train. He wants to do everything by himself right now. Today when we were bowling, Mom or I would walk up to the lane with him and his 6 lb. ball to assist him lifting the ball to the ramp to push down the lane. One time as I was walking up to the lane with him, he turned around and said, "No mom. You stay here. I do it by myself." So I stood there and watched him take the 5 steps (ok, maybe 11 Cayman size steps) all by himself, then he hefted the ball up on the ramp, and pushed it down, all by himself. The look on his face when he turned around after accomplishing such a difficult task for a two year old was priceless! As hard as it is going to be, I know I'm going to have to let him do things by himself more and more in the days to come. It will be tough to relinquish control to him. I guess that's just part of being a mommy. Letting him climb stairs by himself. Letting him climb into his car seat by himself and even do the buckles. Letting him slide out of his bed all by himself (and you all know how difficult that is for me...next week he's probably going to be coming to my side of the bed and waking me up in the morning! AHH!!!)
Please remind me that I wrote this blog in two weeks when I'm complaining about how often I have to hear Cayman say, "No mommy! By myself!" next week about every single minuscule thing! :)
