First Day in the New Place

[gallery columns="2"]

I thoroughly enjoyed our first day in our new house...well, almost!

This morning, (after an extremely LONG night with both kids alternating waking up every hour or so) we went to Ian's store because there was a car show, and since Cayman is big into cars right now, I thought he'd enjoy it. He walked around for a while, but he was definitely a lot more excited to see the cow!

We came home after eating lunch, and we played for a little while - Cayman and I love sitting on the porch! Cayman discovered a box of food in the garage that happened to have my leftover stash of Halloween candy. While I was getting Charis out of the van, he opened a blow-pop and started licking away! So I let him have his lollipop for five minutes or so, and then of course, he was so angry when I took it away! (Cayman NEVER gets candy...unless it's a very special occasion or someone sneaks it to him -- like Natalia...) :)

Once they went down for their naps (at the same time, woohoo!) I got to work! I organized all of the clothes in our room, all of our toiletries in both bathrooms, emptied out some other boxes of miscellaneous items, worked some more in the kitchen, etc. I still have to find homes for a few more items (mainly Cayman's toys), but I should be finished up tomorrow.

Once Ian came home, we decided to walk to the playground in the neighborhood. He asked me if I had a house key, to which I responded yes. "Are you sure?" "Yes, I'm sure." So he hit the garage door button at the same time that I started digging through my bag to show him the key. When I pulled it out, just as he was stepping over the sensor on the garage door, he said, "That's not the house key Alyson!" And then the garage door slammed closed. We were locked out of the house. :( So we walked on to the playground, "calmly" discussing what to do next (I'll give you the "clean" version of the story...haha, jk. We don't yell at each other. In front of the kids. Nah, I'm really jk. We're fairly calm when it comes to stuff like that, honestly.) Anyways. Ian called a locksmith, while I tried to get in touch with the home owner or real estate agent. I got a text from the realtor about 15 minutes later, saying that a neighbor of ours had a spare key. So to make a long story short, we weren't locked out for very long, Cayman got to play at the park (only Daddy wasn't there to play with him), and Charis and I got to sit in the grass in the cool weather.

We also had our first visitor tonight! Mrs. Gail (my sister-in-law's mom...I should just start calling her our FL grandma...) dropped by to see the new house and bring us Charis' bumbo. So it was great seeing her!

Now I'm off to enjoy my amazingly comfortable new bed!! :)
