We've started round 2 for two separate events today.
First of all we're in Round 2 with Charis' teeth. Her first bottom tooth has surfaced or broken through, or however you word it! I think you get the idea! However, I think her second tooth is also trying to make its debut this evening! Poor thing has not been able to sleep either because she's in pain or because her nose is so stuffy that she can't breathe and suck her passy at the same time! Right now, she's sleeping. Hopefully she'll last longer than thirty minutes this go around!
Secondly, we started Round 2 with the frog potty. CAYMAN PEED ON THE FROG POT (as I have absent-mindedly begun calling his little potty) TWO TIMES TODAY! First thing this morning, he woke up with a dry diaper, so we ran to the potty. He sat there, reading his book for a few minutes; I went to change Charis' diaper and clothes. While I was in her room, he hollered, "Mommy! I went poo poo in the potty!" That definitely was not my first time hearing that phrase, so I didn't immediately go running in there. But as soon as I finished Charis' diaper (30-45 seconds later), there stood Cayman, butt naked in the bathroom doorway, and behind him, in all its glory, sat the frog pot with a full pot...of pee pee, not poo poo. (Hey, we're getting there!) I literally had tears in my eyes, I was so thrilled!! He was excited because mommy was so excited! It was so much fun! He got his two mini M&Ms, and we did a little jig in the bathroom!
We went out for a while this morning (I'll tell you more about that in a little while...) When we got back home, Cayman's diaper was dry (it had already been changed once while we were out and about). So before I put him down for his nap, I suggested he try to potty again. So he sat down and within seconds, he was peeing on the potty! Again we were thrilled. We danced. We called Daddy. We ate M&Ms. We celebrated. It was great. Unfortunately, round 2 with Cayman and the frog pot ends here. He sat a few more times after nap time and before bed time, but he still hasn't quite realized he NEEDS to go to the potty. We're still quite a ways off from actual potty training. But I don't think that's going to stop me from going out to Target to let him purchase some big boy undies!
We had so much fun during the rest of our day! My sweet friend that invited us to Chuck E Cheese last night suggested we go to a park this morning. We went to Lakes Park here in Fort Myers, and we had a ball! IT WAS HOT though...like, sweat dripping down your back, nastiness, hot! (Graphic, huh?) I couldn't believe it - January 4 - and it was 80 degrees outside! Anyways. We had a wonderful time at the neatest park. You may remember when we went to ride the choo choo train. Today we went to the same park. Thankfully, the train wasn't in our line of vision or else you-know-who would have begged for a ticket to ride the train! Cayman liked sliding down the slide, watching the other kids playing (my observant child...), and swinging. After the park, we headed to, you guessed it, Chick-fil-A for lunch. I think Charis out-ate us all! Only kidding, but the child did throw down some tiny chicken nugget pieces, fries, and fruit!
I thoroughly enjoyed our play date today. I've missed having girl time since it's taken me a little longer to meet other ladies here in Fort Myers. So it was great hanging out with Beth, getting to know her a little better, and just sharing life together! I'm still looking forward to getting involved with a small group at our new church to help me meet people that live here. We'll be having company for the next two weeks (starting Sunday...YES!!!) But once all the grandparents are back home, and I'm in need of an outlet, I believe we'll be going to a playdate/small group or something!
Charis hit a big milestone today - she pulled up to a standing position all by herself! We were all in the master bathroom getting ready to go out on a walk (changing clothes, sitting on the frog pot, etc...) Charis was sitting on the floor near the tub playing with a toy. And all of a sudden, she just reached up to the tub, and pulled herself right on up! I was giddy with excitement! The boys? Not nearly as much. Imagine that... :)
