Hello Other Moodys!

This afternoon Seth, Leslie, Zachary and Anna flew into town! They drove straight to our apartment from the tiny Punta Gorda airport. Cayman was excited to see more family, and Charis actually let everyone hold her for a little while! (She sometimes gets a little bit of "stranger danger.") Cayman gave everyone the tour of our house, proudly showing off his big boy bed. Once Ian got home and clean, we headed out for supper at a yummy restaurant called Foster's Grill. Mmm...I LOVE philly cheesesteaks! Both of my children ate like they hadn't been fed all day. Charis put down a surprisingly large amount of food -- well, not surprisingly for this week! She's been eating a lot!

Speaking of Charis - we went for her 9 month check-up this morning. We were out of the house right on time to make it to Port Charlotte (Dr. William's office) by 11am. Charis has gained 2 pounds since her 6 month check up. She's up to a whopping 16 pounds, 9 ounces! (About 16th% on the charts.) She is 2 inches longer, measuring 28 inches long. (Around 55th%) And her head...well, who really cares about the size of her head. It's average. :) Dr. Williams is happy about all the food she's eating, but she wants me to make sure that she's getting 24oz formula each day. If she's not getting all of that formula, then I need to cut back on some of the food to ensure she's getting all of the nutrients from the formula. She also recommended buying Charis a walk-behind toy soon (is she really old enough for that!?!?) so she can work on building those muscles needed for walking. And of course we ended the visit with three shots. Poor thing.

Cayman didn't take a nap today...which means tomorrow is going to be a LONG day at the gymnastics meet in Sarasota! As I was arguing/fighting with him to take his nap, I found myself getting to frustrated! As his mom, I KNOW that he needs his nap daily or else he has a horrible evening. I know what is best for him when it comes to him and his naps. I think that's why I got so frustrated when he wouldn't just do what I knew he needed to do! I couldn't help but wonder if God (sinlessly, of course, unlike me today) gets frustrated with me when I just refuse to do those things that He knows I need to do! "If only Alyson would just listen to me, I could make her life so much better/more fun/enjoyable/fulfilling/promising/meaningful/etc, etc." Listening and obeying is tough. But oh so necessary for our development!
