Out and About

This morning we took Nana to see a little bit of Punta Gorda. We went to Laishley Park and walked past the boats and down the fishing pier. Cayman enjoyed seeing all the men fishing. As we walked past one of them, he asked, "You catching anything?" The man didn't hear him, but I was so proud of him for putting that sentence together.

We then went to Fisherman's Village and walked around for a while. Bonnie found some postcards and souvenirs. And she bought Cayman and Charis a fun turtle to play with in their "pool" (bathtub). We also had fun taking pictures with the big shark and pretending to be a pirate and a mermaid.

The last time I went to Fisherman's Village, I went with my parents and the kids. I definitely believe that we had the shops to ourselves that day. We got a front row parking spot. We were pretty much the only customers there at that time. Today one could definitely tell that the busy season has his Southwest Florida! Fisherman's Village was PACKED. And my kids got a lot of stares and smiles from all the "snowbirds"...people from the north that come down here to visit during the winter. Cayman was the star though, when he danced down the boardwalk to the music playing in the shopping area! He was so funny.

Now we're waiting for Ian to get home so we can see what kind of fun we can discover tonight!

  1. I'm pretty sure that I need to be one of those "snowbirds" and come visit. I'm getting insanely jealous of all these pictures in shorts, short-sleeves, and even bathing suits! AHHHH! Bathing suits during the winter?! No fair at all!

Now I'll stop complaining for a minute and talk about how adorable Cayman is. I vote on having a video up of him again sometime soon. :)
