As soon as we got on our surrey and started pedaling, we just started laughing! It was so crazy and fun! We had the best time. The weather was a little cool - we covered the kids up with a beach towel to try to keep them warm. But the cooler weather was perfect for us! We probably pedaled about 3 miles...not THAT far...but far enough while carrying all that weight that we definitely would have been sweating if it had been warmer today! Cayman had a great time saying hello to everyone we passed on the path around the park. He started doing this crazy giggle too that made people laugh. He was just quite the entertainer...as usual!
After dinner tonight, we went to Chick-fil-A. Ian had to close tonight, so we decided to go up and see him for a little while. We all got ice cream cones/cups. Even Cayman! He thought he had died and gone to heaven! And all that sugar started kicking in about 15 minutes into his eating spree. Needless to say, we made him go play off all that energy in the play area! And then he still stayed up 30 minutes past bedtime...but that was mainly because it was Mimi and Paw Paw's last night here!
I have been so blessed to have such amazing in-laws. I had such a good time this week watching Cayman and Charis get extra special play time and loving from their grandparents! It is quite evident how much Mimi and Paw Paw love my sweet kiddos. It is so fun to just sit back and watch them all play together. Paw Paw has taught Cayman some crazy things this week. Cayman has a bad habit of squealing - especially in the car. So Paw Paw thought yodeling would be a much better alternative to the high-pitched screams. And it is. I must admit. But unfortunately, we've been in the van quite a lot this week. And Cayman likes to yodel. A lot. While we're in the van. He yodeled for 30 minutes straight in the van. So. Yodeling sounds better than high-pitched screams. But not for 30 minutes at a time! :) Mimi and Paw Paw have been so sweet to us this week -- cooking suppers, letting me take naps or sleep in, taking the kids on walks, feeding them their meals, entertaining them so I can just have little breaks here and there... It has been wonderful, and I'm going to hate seeing them leave tomorrow!
Yet again - I am so thankful for the sweet relationship I have with my in-laws. I love getting to spend time with them, and they are so special to me, and I know they are to Ian! We can't wait to see them again! I KNOW that I am going to have one sad little boy tomorrow!!!!
Again, there are the neatest things to do there! I want to go on a double surrey ride too! :) I'm sure your kids loved that, and I know mine would too. I'm glad Cayman has turned to yodeling. I really need a video of that. Like now. I'm dying to know how he does it! Also, sorry that Mimi and Paw Paw are leaving today, but it definitely sounds like you had a wonderful time visiting with them!
