Community Hero Day

Our morning was a little calm and lazy. Yesterday was so busy, and we had talked about going back to Lakes Regional Park since Ian was at home today, but I think we all just kind of ran out of steam. We enjoyed a day at home though. We played - a lot! Cayman had fun hiding with Daddy - they hid from me under the pillows on Cayman's bed while I vacuumed. Cayman loves to play hide and seek. He doesn't quite understand how to hide though. He's pretty funny.

Charis was really busy today too. She gets busier by the day! And she's getting quicker on her hands and knees! (Well....hands, knee, and toes of right foot... Both of our children have started moving in the craziest ways. Cayman did the army crawl, and now Charis has a funky crawl.) We had a busy day keeping her away from things! But I do love that she can crawl to me now when she sees me for me to pick her up and cuddle her! She is such a happy, content little baby - yet again, exactly what we prayed for her while she was in my womb! A healthy baby with a happy heart....the same prayer we prayed for Cayman too! I'm so thankful for my sweet kiddos.

Tonight we went to Ian's store for a Community Hero Day where the store honored all "community heroes" -- police officers, firemen/women, doctors, nurses, teachers, ministers, EMTs, etc. The Cape Coral Police Department also came with police cars, K9 units, the SWAT team vehicle, one of their police boats, several motorcycles, and their helicopter had planned to land in the large parking lot just behind the store. It flew over twice, but the fog/cloud coverage was too low and they were unable to land. I think Cayman was a little glad that the helicopter couldn't land. He definitely had mixed emotions as we sat waiting for it to fly over. One second he was squealing with delight sitting on the curb, the next second he was begging for Boo acting like he was going to start crying! Then when he found out the helicopter wasn't going to land at all, he started crying because he was upset! He's as moody as a woman going through menopause sometimes. :)

  2. What a fun thing - Community Hero Day! That really is so neat. I think we need to move there because you always seem to have the neatest things to do!

I love how Cayman wore his fireman boots to show his support! Did Charis enjoy the trip?
