That is what time my son was in the bed this evening! For any of you who know our daily schedule, Cayman goes to bed at 9 every night, and he has done that since he was about 6 months old. Tonight was quite the exception! Cayman went without a nap yesterday and all day today. He was exhausted. Thoroughly, utterly exhausted. He willingly, thankfully, went to bed two hours early tonight because we wore his little booty out today!
This morning we were out of the house by 10:20 (we were supposed to leave at 10...) We drove all the way to Sarasota (now about a 1.5 hour drive for us), made a stop for lunch at my FAVORITE restaurant - Pei Wei. I completely cleaned my plate, and I refrained from licking it. I also refrained from stealing some of Bonnie's fried rice when she left the table to go to the bathroom since I knew she was all done. Embarrassing. I know. But I love Pei Wei. I ordered sesame chicken today. Before today, I've only ever ordered the same dish - sweet and sour chicken (hold the red ginger) with fried rice. I branched out today. While my food was delicious, I believe I will forever return to my signature dish!
We left Pei Wei and hurried to Anna's gymnastic meet. Unfortunately we were about 20 minutes late (since we left late this morning), and we missed two of her routines, including her best one - the floor routine. Bummer. But we still got to see her do the uneven bars and the balance beam. And we saw her get her medals. So it was pretty good!
I spent about an hour last night preparing food, formula, activities, toys, etc. for the meet today because I knew that it was going to be right during the kids' naptimes. I planned for the worst! I'm definitely thankful I inherited my mom's food hoarding tendencies for day trips. My kiddos definitely ate almost all the food I packed (I won't bore you with the list.) The kids did fairly well during the meet. Charis was absolutely exhausted, but she refused to go to sleep until her daddy held her and rocked her to sleep...as usual! Cayman had fun cheering for Anna, her teammates, and the gymnasts that the girls sitting behind us were cheering for. He copied them everytime they said, "GO ELLE!" "GO KIM!!" They thought he was the cutest thing.
We left the competition and made a pitstop at Siesta Key Beach. Nana finally got to see something "Florida-ish!" White, gorgeous sandy beaches. Cayman of course loved the sand, as usual! We had fun showing Nana the first beach that we discovered here in Florida.

When we finally got home, Cayman ate supper, threw a fit over something silly, and I knew that it was time for him to go to bed. I actually thought it was closer to 8 when I made that decision, and then I saw the clock and it was 7:10! But I didn't care. He was exhausted and was trying to tell us the only way he knows how right now, so I listened to him!
I've taken some Tylenol PM because I have been sleeping miserably since my little accident...here's hoping I actually get a decent's night rest! :)
