"Dat airplane!"

This morning Seth, Leslie and the kids came over to hang out with us for a little while before they all left (with Nana) to go to the airport, then back home to Charlotte. We enjoyed our last hour or so together, and yes, we shed some tears when we all said goodbye! It's so sad saying goodbye to our friends and family when you don't know when you'll get to see them again! We had a great time with Nana this week. We were sad to see her go!

But we were glad to see Mimi and Paw Paw get here! We woke the kids up from their naps a little early and all headed to the tiny Punta Gorda airport to pick them up. I am in love with this airport. It is so tiny! We got to walk outside beside the terminal, stood at a fence, and watched the planes landing and taking off (by planes, I mean 3 - two landed and one took off). We stood at the fence and waved like crazy at the plane, and we saw a hand in the window waving in our general direction. We told Cayman, "Look! Mimi and Paw Paw are waving to you!" In my mind, I was thinking, "That person is probably waving to someone else, or they just happened to see a cute little boy waving at the airplane and decided to wave back." But as it turns out, it really was Mimi and Paw Paw waving back to us! (I bet it's really hard for you to imagine how tiny this airport actually is, huh?) I wish now that we had gone to meet all of our guests at the airport because it really was a lot of fun! After we watched them get off the plane, we hurried into the terminal so we could hold up our sign for Mimi and Paw Paw. Cayman was so cute. He held that sign up so high!

After we ate dinner, we decided to go bowling - one of Cayman's favorite thing. Paw Paw didn't bowl because of a hurt shoulder, so he played with Charis the whole time. Cayman had fun. And Mimi and I had fun beating Ian the first time! I have never bowled so well before in my life. And it was definitely the first time I ever beat my husband at bowling. Buuutt.....the second game, Debbie and I decided to concede. But only because the kids were getting sleepy. I mean, we could have bowled another 2 hours. We were just concerned about the kids' well-being. We weren't getting tired or anything. Promise. ;) So we headed home!

It's been a busy day, and I think we're all ready for a good night's rest!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to write about our experience with Cayman today. I was retelling my reaction to my big surprise last night to our company this morning. Cayman was sitting at the table eating his breakfast nearby. I got to the part of the story where we drove up to the arts center and I saw the Cirque sign and I said, "Shut up! Are you serious? Shut up! I'm so excited!" Of course, all Cayman heard was "Shut up!" So he repeated it. Numerous times at the breakfast table. We hid our laughter, and then I had to tell him that we're not allowed to say that, and that mommy shouldn't have said it, blah blah blah. Imagine our surprise when we were pushing the cart through Target and out of nowhere Cayman says, "Shut up! Shut up!" right as a man was walking past our cart. Ian ran off to laugh leaving me there to discipline! :) Funny, but a little inappropriate!
