[/caption]I learned a few things today and thought I would share them with you.
1. Cayman is bossy. He was throwing a ball against the front door while I was feeding Charis her lunch (carrot/tomato blend for the first time). He was distracting her, and she was trying to turn all the way around in her bumbo to watch him throwing his ball. I called her name a few times, and finally Cayman came over to us, put his hand on Charis' head to try to spin it around to face me, and then he said, "Baby. Eat!" It was pretty funny, but I had to stifle my laugh to tell him that mommy and daddy are the ones that tell Charis what to do. :)

2. Baby Orajel works on adults too...WELL. The entire right side of my mouth/tongue is numb right now thanks to Baby Orajel. My upper right wisdom tooth has grown in some more, and I've discovered that instead of coming in straight, it's facing out towards my cheek (if that makes sense.) So it's digging into my cheek which has created a little sore. I've used all the money in our budget this week thanks to other prescriptions, so I'm not going to buy something to help with the pain. Then I remembered that I have Baby Orajel in the kids' medicine kit, so I thought I'd try it to see how it works. I'd say it works pretty well. No wonder the kids always cry whenever I use it on them! It also tastes pretty bad...probably another reason for the tears! But. It does take care of the pain...temporarily!
On a side note, I'm doing some research to find out if I can be put to sleep to have my wisdom teeth taken out while I'm still nursing. It's time to let these bad boys go!

[/caption]3. I now know what Ian sounded like as a baby. Charis sounded like a squawking parrot pretty much all day. She's got this loud, high-pitched, scream. It's not a happy noise. But she's not really crying. She's voicing her opinion about something. And it is obnoxious...extremely obnoxious! But thankfully, she doesn't cry all day long, everyday, like Ian's family says he did as a baby. I heard horror stories as soon as we found out we were pregnant with Cayman about Ian as a baby. And not just from his mom. From ALL of his aunts, uncles, grandparents....everyone. And they all said the exact same thing - he cried constantly! Thankfully, my babies are perfect little angels like their mama was as a baby.
We are having a very hard time with her right this minute trying to get Charis to fall asleep because as it turns out, she does have a bit of the cold that I have. Which is probably why she sounded like a parrot all day - she didn't feel good. Poor thing.
4. We have made some awesome friends in Port Charlotte. Tonight when she got off work, Kim came over to the apartment because she had gotten a little something for the kids. She gave Cayman a truck because she knows how much he loves trucks right now. She gave Charis a cute pair of denim overalls because she knows how much Charis "needs" more clothes. :) Then she gave me some reusable bags that I can take with me to the grocery store. One time when she came over, she saw that we had some recyclables that we were just going to throw away because the apartment complex doesn't have recycle bins. So she took them home to recycle them for us. Ever since then, I save all of our plastic jugs, coke bottles, or water bottles so that she can take them home and recycle them. So she decided to help us out on our journey to recycle and gave me the reusable bags. :) She also wrote us the sweetest card! We are going to miss her so much - especially when she moves up to Jacksonville in December to start school!
