We had a fantastic (yet busy) day again today!
This morning Ian and Cayman enjoyed some fun outside time while I got ready, Charis napped, and then I packed. They had to have been outside for at least an hour. It was so nice outside! They played with a little plastic ball, found a butterfly, watched squirrels (Cayman's newest fascination...we rarely see squirrels in FL...), and pointed out cars as they drove by. They both came in smelling like the great outdoors -- do you know that smell?
As soon as we were all 4 ready to go and we were all packed for our drive, we headed over to see baby Sadie and Aunt Jenn again. Unfortunately when we got there, both of the kiddos were grumpy, Mommy was starving, Daddy left to go visit a friend who was at the seminary...so it wasn't a great first hour at the Robert's house. Thankfully Jennifer "had" to stay upstairs to nurse Sadie (I'm convinced she stayed up there as long as she could to stay in her quiet little bubble a little longer! Just kidding!) I sent Cayman outside to cry and sit in time-out because I didn't want him to bother Sadie or Jenn. He sat in front of their sliding glass door out on the deck. And just sat there and cried it all out. When he was done crying, he got to come inside. Then he came inside, ate his lunch, and went to bed...willingly. He has been so exhausted! Poor guy!
Once the kids were both napping, I went upstairs to talk to Jenn. When Sadie was done eating, I got to hold her! For about 45 seconds. And then she pooped -- explosive poop....REALLY explosive! It squirted out of the back of her diaper, out through her shirt, AND ONTO MY TOES! How crazy is that?! And I thought my children's poop was explosive. Now that's what I'm talking about Sadie Lady!
When Cayman woke up from his nap, we started our drive to Charlotte! We went straight to Nana's house, and we were so excited to see her and Poppy when he came home from work later. Also, we got to see Uncle Seth, Aunt Leslie, Zachery, Anna, and Ryan, as well as Uncle Otis, Aunt Brandy, Dominique, Braylin, Tyree, and Zaiyn. Cayman had so much fun playing with all of his cousins - especially Ryan and Zaiyn. Ryan is 1.5, Cayman is 2, and Zaiyn is 3.5. So they all had a lot of fun together. After supper, Uncle Seth made a fire in the backyard. We all enjoyed roasting marshmallows and running around! We had so much fun!
Cayman seems like such a big boy to me tonight! We only have one pack in play here, and of course, Charis needs it. We also only have two beds at Nana's house - Ian and I get one, and Nana and Poppy get the other. So that means that Cayman is sleeping on a pallet on the floor in the bonus room!! My sweet baby boy! He just laid right down like he always sleeps on the floor. He asked no questions, did not even act like anything was out of the ordinary. He can't be old enough to be sleeping on the floor! I mean, that's what boys do when they have sleepovers or camp out or something like that. Are we reaching that stage in his life already? Noo!! I'm not ready. Ok. Maybe I have a few more years before we start sleepovers and such. I have been so impressed with how Cayman has transitioned from the crib to the bed. He has done so awesome with it!
We're looking forward to surprising Paw Paw in the morning - he has no idea we're coming over for the day!
Then. I am DONE with surprises for a while. A little while.
