All Good Things Must Come to an End

We had the team members over to the house tonight for one final get together.

Yep - that's right! You heard it. One FINAL get-together.

We are moving! Ian starts at a new store on November 1...6 days! At some near future date we will be moving to Cape Coral, Florida (about 20 miles south...yes, I know....wrong direction...) This morning we drove to Cape Coral to tour a house that we HOPEFULLY will be able to rent in Cape Coral. The gated community in which the house is located is pretty much the most amazing place I've ever seen. I want to live there really bad -- it's absolutely perfect for a young, active family likes ours! BUT. We're not sure if they'll let us do a short term lease on the house, so we may be unable to rent it. The store that Ian is moving to is a practically brand new, freestanding unit. It was built in 2009, and it is the nicest location I've ever seen. We are thrilled for the new opportunity, excited that corporate deems Ian ready and perfect for this position, and happy to see what the future holds! (And the store has rat poop ice....my favorite! Ian will most likely be bringing home a cup of ice everyday. Seriously.) So. As soon as we find a place to live, we will be moving to Cape Coral. We will only be 30-45 minutes from our friends here in Port Charlotte, so hopefully we will still be able to see them on occasion. It will be tough to leave the friends we've made; some of them became our 2nd family since we've been so far away from ours! But we know that the Lord will open up new opportunities for friendships and ways to keep old ones going.

We enjoyed our last get-together. I was thankful that everyone took the news so well. This crew has been through so many interim managers; I hated to break the news yet again. They had a few questions, but they took the news extremely well - and Ian was able to maintain his composure throughout the whole speech! (My hubby is very sensitive for those of you who don't know, especially when he is talking in front of a crowd.) We were able to enjoy the rest of the evening. We carved pumpkins, ate chili (today was the perfect day for chili - 80 degrees outside!), and now some of them are out bowling -- their usual Sunday tradition.

On a totally different note - Charis tried apples today! She loved them, of course! She ate SO much today! I felt like every time I turned around, I was making her another bowl of food. My baby girl is growing! I am seriously going to have to go out and buy her some more clothes soon - well, mainly pajamas and onesies. She's getting to the point where she can't really straighten out her legs in her footy pajamas! (All you mamas know exactly what I'm talking about -- you'd put those pajamas on and say, "Oh, this will be the last time you wear these!" But you still make him/her suffer through one last night in pajamas that are too small! Poor kids....)

Now I'm off to bed because I am getting miserable thanks to yucky germs I probably caught on the airplane. Sore throat. Runny, yet stuffy nose. Sneezing. Ugh. The worst sickness for me!

Enjoy the pictures from our day!
