We had a full day, and I can hardly keep my eyes opened long enough to type my blog! We kept our poor children out until 10:55 tonight! But they were all such troopers and let us parents enjoy ourselves for a little while. We'll reward them tomorrow...
This morning we went to Sanibel Island to show Kyle and Jenn how beautiful it is! We were absolutely shocked to see porpoises playing right off the shore! It was as if they were performing for the growing crowd on the beach. I have never seen porpoises so close like that! We actually were calling them dolphins, they were definitely porpoises, and Cayman preferred to call them whales! :) Cayman had fun digging with his shovel in the sand or throwing shells back into the ocean. There were a TON of shells -- that is what Sanibel is best known for all over the world...it's the seashell capital of the world. We actually found 3 tiny starfish! (They were no longer living, so we brought them home with us.)
We left the beach, headed home, and put all the kids straight to bed once we got there. Following nap time, we were off again!
After nap time, we went to the outlets. We got there around 7, walked around until they closed at 9, then went to Applebee's for dinner. Despite being tired, all three kids were FANTASTIC. Charis ate bread the whole time -- she REFUSED to eat her applesauce. Cayman played "monkey game" on Uncle Kyle's iphone the whole time. It was a great evening. We all love spending time together, and now that we all have kids, it adds a completely different dimension to our friendship! We are so thankful that Kyle and Jenn were able to come visit us this long weekend. I hope they know how much it meant to us that they would use their family vacation time to come see boring old us! :)
