You are not going to believe this, but we were out of the house this morning before 9:30 AGAIN! It must be a record. Today we made the hike to North Port, about a 45 minute drive, to go to the Drumm's house! We haven't seen them in quite some time, but Cayman and Mason picked up right where they had left off. The only difference is that now, Cayman can actually carry on a conversation with him, and Mason can understand Caymanese almost better than me! We also invited Amie, Hudson, and Emerson over to play too. (Amie is the wife of the new IM at the mall in Port Charlotte.) I thought it would be fun for Amie to get to meet another family in her town. And Hudson and Emerson had a great time playing with Cayman, Mason, and Mocha (the dog.) The kids mostly played outside in the backyard because it was absolutely gorgeous outside today. Too warm for long sleeves!
The kids had a great time fixing up the tree house part of the playset. They got Mason's tools (hammer, saw, drill, screwdrivers, safety goggles, etc.) and were so busy making sure everything was perfect! When it was almost time for us to go, I went out to give Cayman his warning, and he said, "No Mom. Five more minutes!" and held up his five little chunky fingers! (No idea where he learned that one....) I had to use a treat to get him out to the van. I asked him if he wanted a treat (fruit snack) and when he excitedly responded "Yes!" I told him he had to be sitting in his car seat! Out the door we went! (Don't judge - I am not ashamed to use bribery!)

We went grocery shopping tonight. The boys rode together, and the girls rode together (in carts, that is.) The kids did really well! At one point, we were pushing the carts beside each other, and Cayman and Charis were reaching out their hands towards each other to try to touch. And then they'd just giggle and laugh! I love that Charis is old enough for them to actually start playing together now. It truly warms my heart and makes me smile! Cayman was also very sweet to sissy in the van. Well, in a Cayman kind of way. He was reading one of his little paperback books from a kids' meal at CFA. I asked him if he wanted to read it to Charis and show her the pictures. He said, "No Charis can read it!" He launched it across the van, and it landed right in Charis' lap!
