I'm Not What I Used to Be...

I almost died tonight. Or at least I thought I was going to die. Ok. Well I knew I wasn't going to die. But I thought I had broken my neck. Seriously.

Cayman and Ian had been playing on one of the beds. Charis and I were watching them play (well, Charis was trying to join in on the fun. She has started pushing up on her knees from a sitting position while leaning on a pillow or a daddy laying on the bed. And then she squeal and slap whoever she could!) Eventually, Charis got sleepy, so I took her to bed. Since she's started sitting up all on her own, she has a little harder time falling asleep. Ian went to help her fall asleep, which left Cayman and I in the room all by ourselves. So what does Cayman want? He wants mommy to do exactly what daddy had been doing. That is when I realized I'm not what I used to be. "Mommy, you flip!" So what does silly mommy do? I do a front flip on the bed...I haven't done a front flip in YEARS...seriously... And I'll probably never do one again. As soon as I started flipping I knew I had made a huge mistake. "Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop!" went my neck... I laid on the bed, clutching my neck. Cayman stood over me saying, "Mommy, you got a boo boo? Mommy got a boo boo!" I hollered for Ian because I was so afraid to move! Once he finally came in, (he couldn't hear me from Charis' room) he made me move my head side to side. Not bad. But when he helped me sat up, I realized it hurt bad! It still hurts - a good hour later. I can hardly look down or up! I'm definitely going to feel it tomorrow! Lesson learned. Mommy is not capable of doing what daddy does.

We also had another first in the Moody household tonight... Charis fell off the bed for the first time. :( Another lesson learned... She's definitely too mobile now to be left on any surface above the ground. I knew better. But I was just running to the other room to grab a diaper. I asked Ian to go in there with the kids, and when he got in there, he hollered for me. I knew what had happened before I even got in there. He said that when he walked in the room, Cayman looked up at him and said, "Charis fall down. Charis got a boo boo." Thankfully, Charis had no boo boos. She was just a little scared.
