What a strange title, huh?
We had a super busy, but fun, day today! This morning we were out of the house by 10:15 - unheard of in this household! (Saturday we have to be at the airport at 9:30am....what are we going to do?! Haha) We went to Target to get milk and the rest of the stuff on my baking list (2 separate kinds of pretzels). Since we were so close, we had to go to Chick-fil-A to see Daddy...of course! Cayman got to play with some little girls in the play area. At one point, he was pulling on one of the little girl's arm/hand trying to get her to go to the slide with him. So it starts. :)
When we got home, it was nap time for the kids and cleaning time for the mom. I needed to get ready for Kim's visit! She came over to help me finish up my baking and to just spend some time together before she moves to Jacksonville for school. I'm going to miss her so much! But we made the most of it today. We made chocolate covered...well, dipped...pretzels with sprinkles and chocolate pretzel squares -- those don't really have a name yet. But they'll need one because I think I'll make those each year. They were so simple and so cute! But Kim's chocolate dipped pretzels were really cute as well - they just required a bit more effort!
After Ian got home and we all ate supper together, we went to Bass Pro Shop. Random, I know. But we found out that they have this neat Santa's toyshop area. You can stand in line for a free picture with Santa (which we chose not to do). Or you can walk around to different booths where they have toys set up for the kids to play with. They had a train set, a race car track, a remote control truck area, and then one where you could shoot a gun (laser beam of course) or shoot a bow and arrow (little nerf arrows). They also had a kid sized tent for the kids to try out and quite a few other things. It was really neat...and a great marketing tactic! Of course everything the kids were trying out were items that the store was trying to sell.
I've never been in a Bass Pro Shop before, so I don't know if they're all the same. But this one had a really neat two-story rock wall with all kinds of stuffed animals all over it, and a large freshwater aquarium. Cayman loved looking at the fish. But he really liked riding the elevator! We made him get in a canoe and hold a paddle (which he was NOT happy to do.) We also got in a huge tent they had set up. He and Ian hid in all the camouflage clothing. We had a great time!
Now our marathon weekend begins...Ian has to be at work at 4:30am for a huge order that's going out at 6:30am (normally the store opens at 6:30.) They will also be getting the store ready for their "Breakfast with Santa" which is being held on Saturday. The kids and I have at least one errand to run to help out with that. Then I will be cleaning the house, getting ready for our special company this weekend! Kyle, Jenn, and Sadie will get here early Saturday morning. And then Sunday night we'll be hosting a dinner party here for the managers at the store. And I'm cooking everything! Including a ham... What was I thinking?! (There's always "Heavenly Ham" right?!)
