Cayman's Quips

[Most recent quips will now be written at the top!]

Tonight we went to eat outside at Sonic (we're taking in all the nice weather before it gets scorching hot outside!) We were waiting on our food to come out when a "waitress" (or server or whatever the people that bring out the food are called at Sonic) came out to take food to a nearby table. Cayman stared at her (I figured it was because she was on skates), and then he turned back around to us and said, "She has pretty eyes!" He has NEVER complimented anyone! Like. N-E-V-E-R! It was hilarious. I asked him if he wanted to tell her that he thought her eyes were pretty and he said yes. But when Ian called her over to the table, Cayman morphed into the most shy little boy I've ever seen! He would not even look the girl in her face! We told her the story, we all laughed, Cayman never once looked up! She walked away and returned a few minutes later and asked Cayman if he was ready to tell her yet. Cayman turned all the way around in his seat and didn't turn back around until I told him she was gone! It was awesome. His first crush! :)

The other day, Cayman was watching me get dressed for the baseball game we took him to. I put on my tanktop, and all of a sudden, Cayman asked, "Mommy, you have a baby in your belly?"
Me: No son, I used to have a baby in my belly but not anymore.
Cayman: But mommy, it looks like you have a baby in your belly.
Me: No buddy, that's just my food.
Cayman: Mommy! The baby is eating all the food in your belly!
Me: Thanks for the inspiration to lose that last 10 pounds, buddy...
Cayman: You're welcome, Mommy.

Grammy: You sure are smart Cayman! Are you smart like your mama, or smart like your daddy?
Cayman: I'm smart like mama and daddy.
Grammy: You are smart, huh, Cayman?

"Darnit!" -Cayman after dropping his balloon in the bathroom after he'd just picked it up.

Cayman was playing in the tub after his bath the other night. He was squatting down, checking out his manhood (I guess? I have no idea what he was doing), and all of a sudden he said, "Uhh, my baby coming out!" ?!?!!?!??! Seriously?!?!?!

We had just stopped to get lunch at Checker's following a fun morning at Jump City. As soon as we get a bag of food from the drive-thru window, Cayman immediately asks for fries...EVERY time. No matter if it's Starbucks and Ian's just gotten a drink. So here's the conversation from this particular fast food stop...
Cayman: Can I have a fry?
Grammy: They're very hot, Cayman. You'll have to wait.
Cayman: (1 minute later) Can I have a fry?
Grammy: They're still too hot.
Cayman: (1 minute later) Grammy, can I have a fry?
Grammy: Cayman, you can have a fry when we get home. I will put one on the table for you with the rest of your lunch and you can eat it.
Cayman: No I want all of them!

Tonight, I was saying our nightly prayers with Cayman. We usually say a line, and then he repeats us. Here's our prayer tonight.
Me: Dear Jesus...
Cayman: Jesus...
Me: Thank you for our family...
Cayman: Thank you family...
Me: And our friends...
Cayman: And friends...
Me: Help me to be obedient...
Cayman: Help me obedient...
Me: To my parents.
Cayman: To my parents.
Me: In your name we pray...
Cayman: Cayman James
Me: Amen. (while holding back giggles)
Cayman: Amen!
