We did manage to spend some time outside today. Cayman seems to be a little happier outdoors. Buuut... It was warm enough for shorts and flip flops...and when Cayman wears shorts and flip flops, he most often ends up with skinned knees because he forgets he can't run as well in flip flops (despite the many times I told him not to run in his flip flops...sometimes you just have to let him learn his lessons on his own.)

[/caption]I made the mistake of taking them out tonight to watch Ian play ultimate frisbee. I failed to check the weather report before we left and automatically assumed it was going to be warm like it has been. Unfortunately it was windy and the temperature dropped a bit. So we were a little cold sitting out in the wind. And Cayman started having a coughing fit. I stupidly took a beach ball for him to play with in the huge open field (I didn't know it was going to be THAT windy...) That did not go over well! We planned on having a picnic dinner out there. But neither child has been too interested in eating, and even if they were tonight, there was too much going on for them to want to eat. We left after about 30 minutes and went to our friends' house. Britney's husband Chris is the one that invited Ian to play tonight. So Britney met us there to hang out and catch up. (We didn't get to do much of that at the field.) She invited us back to their house because she could tell how miserable we all were. Well, mainly me and Cayman. So off we went to a nice warm house where we were met by two cats and a very excited (but closed in) dog. The kids loved the cats and were a little nervous around the dog.
I should already be in bed...as usual...because it will probably be a long night...again... This too shall pass............right?!
Did you ever say "I want my Mama!"?
ReplyDeleteCayman (& Charis), I am so sorry you do not feel well. I wish I was there to help Mommy with you and to give you some extra loving. Please know that I love all of you with all my heart and that I hope everyone feels better today.
ReplyDeleteDid you ever say, "I want my mother-in-law"? :o)
Cayman looks so pitiful in the second picture.
ReplyDeleteYou never should have left GA. :-)
