It's been a few days since I've blogged. I've had a good reason! We've been having fun as a family! Ian took Saturday off because he's going to be busy this next week, and he knew he wasn't going to spend as much time with us. Cayman started coughing pretty bad again last night (bad enough to throw up all in the bathroom.... again...) and was still coughing bad enough for us to not think it was a good idea to go to church this morning. So we had even more family time all day today!
Friday night we wanted to go out for icecream, and Ian and I had just decided to go to Chick-fil-A, grab some icecream and let the kids play in the play area before bed. Not five minutes later, our friend Tricia called to let us know they were in Cape Coral wanting to go eat a late supper at Ian's store. So we got to meet them and some of their friends there. Her girls are always so sweet to our kiddos - we love every chance we get to see that sweet family! We didn't get home until after 9:30!
Saturday we decided to start our morning off at the pool. Cayman and Charis really love the pool, and it can be very relaxing for me and Ian too! Sometimes it's not as relaxing because keeping up with Charis can keep you busy. Every now and then she'll just sit and play in the water. But most of the time she's crawling through the water (goes a little too deep sometimes) or she's digging in the mulch and trying to eat it all. It's still nonetheless, and we are trying to get Cayman more comfortable in the water with each visit.
Then Saturday night Ian said he really wanted to watch the sunset somewhere special...and on the water. So we headed out to Fort Myers Beach, which also happens to be Spring Break central in this part of Florida! It was soooo incredibly crowded! But we'd already driven the forty-five minutes to get there, so we weren't going to turn around. While Ian parked the van, the kids and I walked down the pier. Cayman had fun watching the men fish - we saw two baby sharks while watching! We also saw a group of spring breakers jump off the pier...and there just happened to be a dolphin swimming not 20 feet from where they jumped! (Yes, jumping from the pier is illegal down here....) We ate dinner outside, right on the water, and saw a gorgeous sunset, enjoyed a yummy seafood dinner, and listened to some fun live music. Both kiddos enjoyed the lively music and showed it by dancing their hearts out! (See Charis' video on Facebook. She is a dancing machine!)
Sunday, since we didn't go to church, we decided to play at home! While I was at the store buying medicine, Cayman, Daddy and Charis had fun playing in tents! In fact, Cayman called me while I was at the store to invite me to come back home and come into his tent.
Cayman decided he didn't need a nap this afternoon, so after we let him lay in there and rest for a while, I took him back to the pool. He loves floating around in his little fish ring. Ian and Charis met us a little later after she finished her nap. We stayed there for a good two hours! Charis tried out the fish ring, and though she was really wobbly and off balance, it allowed her to take some steps through the water. Cayman also tried out the swimmies today - he definitely put up a fight, but he did "swim" from the area just over his head once Ian pushed him out there.
I'm sad to see this weekend come to an end! We have had a lot of fun. But now it's time to start our busy week!! (I wanted to post pictures below each day, but once I saw how many pictures we took this weekend, I decided it would be much easier, and quicker to just post a slideshow!!! Enjoy!)

I love the picture of charis laying in the fish ring! Reminds me of the one with Julian in a ring drinking his bottle.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've had my "Moody family fix" now and life can go on! I know you miss NC and GA right now, but I have a strong feeling you're going to miss FL once you get settled elsewhere. BTW, it was 37 degrees driving into work this morning! Enjoy that FL weather as long as you can.
ReplyDeleteLove you all,
Mena
