Inflatable Heaven

Mom has been wanting to take Cayman to do something special since we first arrived in Augusta. Since we're leaving in two days, we decided today would be the best day! So we took him and Graysan to this place called Jump City. Let me just tell you...Cayman was in heaven! He had a ball. He's always enjoyed inflatables, especially the ones that you just go inside and jump in them like it's a trampoline. But today was the first day that he really got to do some of the big inflatables - climbing up the ladders, going down the slides, going through the obstacles... He mastered it! And loved it! I'm not going to lie...I think I loved it almost as much as he and Graysan!  We even got Mom and Charis involved in the action. Charis didn't like it that much...she liked being held and watching the rest of the kids. I held her in my lap to go down the little slide. Obviously I'm not quite sure how she felt about it! She didn't scream though - that's got to be good for something!

Tonight Jason (my older brother) arrived with his two kids. (Allison, his wife, went on a weekend trip with her girlfriends.) Cayman was so excited to see them all! We were outside playing in the swing when they arrived, and when he saw them, he said, "Let me down! I wanna go hug them!" He loves his cousins! He and Harper play so well together. Cayman pretended to be the doctor for Harper's baby (she was the mommy of course.) Then they played a concert for the family with their recorder and flute (Harper said, "Let's go play to our family, Cayman!") They ended the evening playing with the tool set while wearing their hard hats.

We decided to let the three older kids sleep in the same room together. Cayman was still awake at 10:15. I think if we had let him fall asleep first at his normal bedtime (he and Harper were playing so nice and quietly together that we lost track of time until I looked up and saw 9:25 on the clock!) everything would have been fine! But we put him and Harper to bed at the same time -- and then when Garrett went to bed about 30-45 minutes later, Cayman either got woken up or hadn't been to sleep yet. And then I had to talk Garrett into sleeping with the door closed because he usually sleeps with it opened but Cayman does not. Soo... I think all the kids are asleep. Finally. I'm interested to see how it will all work out in the morning because Cayman sleeps later than Garrett and Harper. *Note...we did have a reason for experimenting with this sleeping arrangement. This summer we're all going to Orlando together for vacation, and some of the kids are going to end up having to share a room together. So we decided to do a trial run tonight.*

Tomorrow morning we're all heading out early for Graysan's 8th birthday party! Chuck-E-Cheese: here we come!

By the way...today marks the end of an era for us...maybe... When Cayman woke up from his nap, he got out of bed, opened his door, and walked back to Grammy's room. :*( Mom thought I had sent him back there. I thought Dad had gotten him out of bed. Then we realized he had done it all on his own. The funny part is, I was sitting at the kitchen table, facing the hallway leading back to Mom and Dad's room, and I never once heard or saw Cayman. So for the first time EVER, Cayman realized he could get out of bed and walk out of his room without an adult coming in to get him. He's getting so independent these days!!!! :*(

By the way - check out my post, Cayman's Quips, for an update on his latest sayings!
