Back to the Doctor

I feel like I've been going 90mph since we got to Augusta. One day soon I'm going to take a day where I go up to my parent's place at the lake, turn off my phone (ok, maybe I'll keep it on for important phone calls and the games), and just enjoy the peace and quiet while reading a novel wrapped up in a blanket on the swing. Doesn't that sound like fun?!

Today, on the other hand, we enjoyed the gorgeous weather yet again! Mom and the kids stayed outside for a while this morning (it was my day to shower again, so I accomplished that feat while they played outside!) I talked Cayman into putting on his hard hat and tool belt to go outside to fix things like Big Al. He stayed in that get-up ALL MORNING. Even had to eat lunch in it! He was so adorable. And surprisingly, there were so many things that were broken outside! The wagon was broken. The bench was broken. The swing was broken. He was using the pliers to pick up pine straw. It was great.

Ian and I had already discussed taking her to the doctor today for her eyes. This morning when we woke up, I debated because they didn't really look that bad. But for some reason, when she went outside, they started getting really bad - outsides were pink and they were oozing thick mucousy type stuff. (You should know by now how graphic I am!) So I let her take her nap, and then I took her into an urgent care place. It took the doctor about 5 minutes to tell me she had developed pink eye. Ugh. Pink eye. Probably the most contagious disease on the planet! I have never had it nor have I had a child who's had it. But. This afternoon, both mom and I started noticing our eyes being a little itchy. Fantastic. So we have an ointment that we have to apply to her eyes twice a day. And let me tell you - she hates it. I would to I suppose. I'll probably know how much I hate it in a few days.

For supper, we went back to Lake Park for the regular Wednesday night church supper. And wouldn't you know that us Moody's had to make a scene! Poor Cayman. He gets so excited about eating food that he forgets to chew sometimes. He was eating salad, which he LOVES eating at home. But of course, since we were out in public, he started choking on it. I'm used to it, so I don't freak out anymore. I just started pounding on his back while he attempted to pull the piece of lettuce out of his mouth. He ended up throwing up (a tiny bit) on the table near his plate and spit out the piece of lettuce. Needless to say, Big Al and the other church members sitting around us were completely grossed out...and rightly so.

We snuck out of church since Charis wasn't able to go to the nursery and headed home to get ready for bed. As soon as mom and dad got home, I left to go hang out with Joy again and do some more wedding planning with her and two other bridesmaids. So fun! Apparently the kids had a blast while I was gone. Mom said they just played and played! They really do love playing together now, and I love it! There's just something about seeing your children loving each other so much. Warms. My. Heart.
