All About Charis

So I've been Charis a little bit of slack for the past week or so. She's been a little off schedule, hasn't been eating that well, etc. But during that time, she's started doing some super cute things!

A few days ago, I noticed that whenever I asked for a kiss, she would lean towards me! And then she would lean towards me with her mouth wide open! So she gives us kisses now, and it is so sweet. A little slobbery/wet at times, but oh so sweet. One afternoon, the four of us were playing on Cayman's bed, and she gave Ian his first kiss. I said, "Charis, give Daddy a kiss!" And she leaned right for him, mouth wide open, and gave him a kiss. Then I said, "Charis, give Cayman a kiss!" And she leaned right for him, mouth wide open, and gave him a kiss! So she recognizes us now, as well.

Tonight at supper, I asked her if she wanted more food (we had enchiladas and corn, by the way, which she LOVED), and she shook her head no!

After supper, we went to play outside for a while. I'm telling you, the gorgeous has been absolutely gorgeous here recently! I am loving it. The past few nights we've gone to play outside after supper so Cayman can get rid of some of his energy. He rides on Mickey while I pull Charis around in the wagon. Charis sat in the wagon for a good hour tonight - part of the time when she was being pulled, and the rest of the time, she sat and watched Cayman and me play. I taught Cayman how to play hopscotch. She was mesmerized watching her brother play. I can only imagine what she's thinking while watching him!

After playing outside, we came in for bathtime. Almost as soon as the kids got in the tub, I heard Cayman start saying, "This little piggy...this little piggy..." (He was finishing the sentence; I just couldn't understand where each little piggy went!) But he was doing it with Charis' toes! It was so cute. Later Charis started standing up in the bathtub, which we do not allow until she can stand unassisted. So when she kept pulling up (over and over and over), I finally had to pop her little fanny. (She didn't even cry - she's gonna be a tough one to discipline, I believe!) But as soon as I popped her, Cayman started crying like he had broken his finger or something! It literally took him like 2 1/2 minutes to calm down enough to answer my questions about why he was crying! And he was crying because he was sad Charis got a spanking! That's the first time I've ever noticed him show sensitivity towards someone else. (Does that make sense?) It was like he understood Charis' feelings and felt sorry for her! It was really sweet, and I thought I was going to cry!

Also - last week, I walked in her room to get her up after naptime, and she was standing up in her bed! I can still remember the first time I walked into Cayman's room to find him standing up in his crib, so proud of himself and grinning from ear to ear!

Well I just looked for a good 45 minutes through all of our pictures of Cayman for the picture we took of him standing up in his crib for the first time. But I couldn't find it. Maybe it's just a picture in my memory. :(

Here we are eating our lunch today outside at Sonic. Cayman told me that he liked eating outside. I think we'll have to do that a bit more often. It was fun. Except for when the wind blew the napkins/trash everywhere. Then Cayman had to jump down from his chair and go get the napkins and bring them back to me before they blew away. He's very environmentally conscious.

So was this guy. He jumped around making sure no food was left on the ground for the wind to blow around. Cayman had to jump down to try to go touch him. Of course he got nowhere close.
