Monkey Joe's

This morning we took Cayman (well, Charis went too, but it was mainly to celebrate with Cayman how awesome he's been doing using the potty.) We went to a place called Monkey Joe's. It's pretty much like Cayman's dream world. It was a huge open room with a ton of bounce houses. They had some for older kids (which Cayman was allowed to do if he wanted) and they had some for toddlers (which Cayman loved!) Charis pretended like she wanted to do everything like her bubba, but when we actually put her inside, she cried the whole time. So she mainly just roamed around the whole time, hollering her famous catch phrase "MMAA-MMAAA!" (Which, just so you know, refers to anything and anyone....food, cup, cracker, toys, Grammy, Mama...she screams it all day long. We are so tired of it in fact, that unfortunately she has started being disciplined when she does it. Yes. It's that bad. Spend 30 minutes with the child, and you'll know what I'm talking about! She knows how to say most of the stuff she wants now; she just chooses to scream "MAMA" so I'm trying to retrain her. Ugh.)

Cayman was very brave one time and climbed up the tallest ladder to go down the biggest slide. But once he got to the top, he got scared and screamed, "Mama! Dat too big! I not want to go down!" And then he turned around to start climbing down the ladder. So I ran up that ladder to keep him from doing that because I just envisioned him sliding down the ladder, banging his face on the steps the whole way down! Once I got to the top, he said "I sit in your lap and we go down together." He loved it! But he didn't want to do it again. :)

We had a great time at Monkey Joe's, and we can't wait to go back when Cayman's cousins can go too!

I also took the kiddos to Target tonight (gotta get all the Target visits in while I can!) so Cayman could spend his poopy quarters to buy a surprise. (When he poops on the potty, Grammy gives him a quarter.) As we were leaving, Big Al gave him some extra coins to put in his little change holder (and then he gave me a bill to use "in case Cayman wants to buy something extra...") So we searched all over Target for the perfect surprise. Cayman finally decided on a Spiderman beach towel.

While I was there, I looked at the kids' bedding aisle (I know. I'm crazy. You have no idea though how badly I want my kids to have cute kiddy bedrooms!) And while I was there, I saw that the bedding I've been wanting for Charis' future room was on clearance! So I got a comforter, sheet set, and pillowcase (for a crib/toddler bed) for $21. You better believe I'm going to be keeping a much closer eye on that kids' bedding aisle to watch for the lamp, wall decals, owl pillow, etc, etc, to go on clearance! :)

  1. So, Mena was right yesterday, huh? SO GLAD you got what you wanted for Baby Charis. I was SO afraid it would be gone before you got that chance.

You're going to be pulling a U-Haul from Augusta to EC!!!! :)

    Love ya,
    Mena
