Backwards Recap

(No pictures yet, BEWARE!) I know I've been promising pictures of our new house for a while now, but tonight will not be the night. So sorry. This is definitely NOT how we want our friends and family to see our new house! It's chaotic to put it nicely. :) Although I did get to sweep and mop the entire downstairs tonight which felt GOOD. But pictures will come soon enough. If you'd really like to see what it looks like, you could come up to EC and see us!! We love having company. :) Anyways. Here's a backwards recap of the past whirlwind of a week or so.

- Today. Oh my. So glad it's over. Cayman and Charis had a rough day. Mama had a rough day. Thankfully Superman came home around supper time to save the day. Let me explain. Cayman and Charis both developed a cough since moving in to the new house. When Cayman gets any type of sinus/drainage issues, it never fails; he ends up coughing so much in the middle of the night that he kind of gets choked on the drainage and throws up. So last night, we had a super late night. The kids didn't eat supper til after 8:30. They were grumpy while Ian and I feverishly worked to finish up at the old house; cleaning and clearing everything out. Finally we finished there and hurried to feed them. But there was quite a bit of whining, crying, screaming, fighting...you name it. So. Of course all of that equals a lot of drainage on my little man's part. They finally went to bed around 10. Cayman was either calling for me or in our room until 2am. At 3am he coughed so much that he threw up. By 3:30am, he was finally totally asleep which meant that mama could finally be totally asleep. Poor Ian had to be up at 4:30am to go to work, which meant that mama was awakened at 4:30 after being asleep for about an hour. I did fall back asleep for a little while, but then my good little sleeper, Charis, woke up at 6:30!!! For good!!! Yikes. This mama does not like to get up before 8am. It's pretty much a known fact amongst our friends and family. The Moody's do not like to get up before 8. :) Anyways. Needless to say, we were a tired, grouchy bunch all day. Oh yeah, and then Cayman didn't take a nap at all, and Charis only slept for 1 hour! Unheard of, I tell you!! They were both in bed tonight before 8pm.
-Enough complaining. We made our first major purchase in the new house. Ian bought a riding lawn mower because our yard is huge compared to our old one! He loves it. He's already ridden it twice. In three days. And the kids love riding it too! Me? Not so much!!
-I had my 28 week visit yesterday as well. I had to do the gestational diabetes test (YUCK!), receive my Rhogam shot (because I am RH-), and have another ultrasound to check the location of my placenta. The placenta is very close to my cervix, but it doesn't cover my cervix, so that is a blessing. The baby is VERY low already though. Like VERY low. (The ultrasound tech was a little shocked when she started the ultrasound!) It's head down, and while it can move around and shift positions between now and delivery, it's unlikely. So anyways - everything still looks good, the baby still looks healthy, I'm still gaining weight....
-Ok. Let's talking moving in. We actually moved in to our new house last Thursday. We closed on Wednesday. We had planned to move in on Sunday or Monday. But Ian talked to some of his buddies Thursday at lunch, and he found out that we were going to have lots of help and vehicles/trailers to move Thursday. So at 1pm, he called and told me that we were going to move mostly everything that night. Like, people were coming over around 4 to help us! Yikes! Talk about high blood pressure! I was no where near ready to move that night. We had lots of boxes packed, but we still had LOTS MORE TO PACK. It was stressful, but we got to sleep in our new house on Thursday! Unfortunately neither one of us remembered that gas needed to be turned on, so we weren't able to cook or take hot showers in the new house until Monday. We traveled back and forth to the old house at night to clean the house and then take showers/baths. It was a busy, busy week.

We love our new house. There's so much space, it's gorgeous...just what we always wanted!!! We are so blessed to finally be in OUR house. Our very own. Not someone else's. The Moody's house!!! :) Yay!
