I can't believe it's finally here! We're starting a whole new era in the Moody household. Cayman will start preschool tomorrow here at home. I am really looking forward to having a schedule. I think the kids will do well with one too. Of course our "schedule" will be flexible to allow for different things/events that come up. But for the most part, three days a week (or more if Cayman falls in love with it) we will be upstairs in our school room during the morning. I have been preparing both kids for this day. Charis will be right there with us the entire time I'm sure. Give that girl a page of stickers, and she will be occupied for an hour! But most of our time in the morning we'll be doing group time together with a little bit of one on one time with Cayman to focus on a tiny bit of handwriting and worksheets.
Update tomorrow night along with some pictures (yes, I promise!) as long as we all survive our first day! :)
Baby C Update:
Last week I went for my 28 week visit. Baby C is doing fine! I do not have gestational diabetes. However there were a couple of little things "wrong." Not really wrong, just not 100% normal! :) Apparently I'm a little anemic, so I've been put on iron pills. Having low iron explains away a bit of the negative pregnancy symptoms I've been having. No excuses however for irritability and tiredness! I also have a UTI that I'm glad they caught because they can be very serious for pregnant women if the infection gets into your kidneys. The other news I received at my appointment is that Baby C is low -- extremely low! Already! Head down, ready to go! Crazy huh? I still have 11 weeks to go! I have always felt like Baby C has been much lower than Cayman and Charis ever were. But the ultrasound I had solidified my feelings. :) The ultrasound tech was a little surprised when she started the ultrasound. The reason I needed another ultrasound was to check on my placenta. During my comprehensive ultrasound at 20 weeks, they were unable to get a clear view of my placenta. This is important because they need to know that the placenta is not blocking my cervix (placenta previa). During this ultrasound they still couldn't get the clearest view of the outline of my placenta because Baby C's head was RIGHT THERE the entire time. But they could see enough to know that I don't have placenta previa. The placenta is close to the cervix so they will have to do future exams (like once I'm in labor) carefully so as not to damage the placenta.
House Update:
We LOVE our new house!! We're so thankful to be here. It's not perfect yet, but it's perfect for us. We're getting used to having room to spread out, although most of the time we're still right on top of each other the whole time. Cayman and Charis have discovered a whole new world of play together in Cayman's new big boy bed. It's often their pirate ship. Today they were pretending to ride their ship, and Charis was in charge of checking the "computer screen" for the number of sharks in the water. Cayman definitely is the leader in their imaginative world, but Charis is never far behind. They also tend to bicker quite a bit. :( Unfortunately they tend to slap each other. And Cayman has learned the art of passing the blame, so Charis gets blamed for most of it! (But don't let it fool you, Charis dishes out her fair share too.) Anyways. Back to the house. We're learning how to deal with being a homeowner. We've already had to call about the tankless hot water heater in our attic. I'm learning how to take care of nicer things in the house - hardwood floors, granite countertops, gas appliances (seriously, how do you clean the metal things on top of the stove?) We can't wait until everything has a home in our house - we're purging (again)...not because we don't have the space, just because we don't want the junk! This is much easier for Ian than for me though! I tend to want to hold on to everything. Our big accomplishment of this past weekend? We can park a vehicle in our garage! But we discovered that we probably will ever only get one vehicle in that garage despite it being a "two car" garage. :) So far, we've decided to park the cow car in the garage. ;)
Ok, I better head off to bed before our big day tomorrow!! I've been needing tons more rest the past few weeks!
