37 Weeks

We're coming up on 38 weeks (Tuesday to be exact). But my mom asked for a picture the other day so she could see what I looked like this late in the pregnancy.

On the 31st, the kids and I packed up the van that chilly morning and headed to the park! As you can see in the picture below, we put their riding toys in the van so they could ride around the ball fields while Mama walked. And walked. And walked some more. We rode/walked almost a mile that morning. They had so much fun, and I learned that I need to set some rules/guidelines for quick Cayman when we go to do something like this again! He practically lapped Charis and I a couple of times. :) We had fun, but unfortunately, the walking did not do its job -- no contractions!

Of course, since it was the 31st, we went out that night Trick-or-Treating, which means I got even more walking in! As it's the 2nd of November, and there have been no birth story posts or pictures, you can tell even more walking did nothing to induce labor! So here I sit, at 2cm dilated (I guess), feeling like I'm 7 months pregnant instead of almost 10 months pregnant! Which is a good thing. Things could be much worse. But after progression early on, you kind of get it in your head that you're going to have the baby early! Now that my bubble has been busted, we're out of October, and I'm almost to 38 weeks (which is how far along I was when Charis was born), I've just accepted the fact that I could go all the way to 40 weeks. And thats ok with me. I'll just enjoy the extra time we get as a family of 4. And I'll trust that the Lord knows much better than I what this little baby needs (surely He knows though that Baby C wants to come be in his/her mama's arms!!!) 

So. Throw in your bets people! When will this baby arrive? And what will this baby be??

I will start.

COLBY LEWIS (a boy I'm guessing!) will arrive on November 9 around 9am.

And I have no premonitions for guessing a boy. This pregnancy has been a little bit like both of my other pregnancies. So don't think I'm giving you a mama's intuition or anything! :)
