We made it!

Well, Charis and I finally made it! We made it to the point in a woman's life that is to be celebrated. A time where we throw caution to the wind. A moment where the world (or just me) stops to admire beauty. A stepping stone for the remaining paths of her life. That's right ladies (and you poor brave gentlemen who are forced to read this blog by your prodding wives). We can officially (and barely) style Charis' hair into a ponytail!

This morning, she also snuck off to her bedroom. You would think I would be thrilled to discover that Charis is quietly off somewhere by herself. Oh no. Not this mama. Quiet + No Charis (usually) = TROUBLE. I went off searching for her in her usual hiding spots. Our bathroom. Nope. The laundry room. Nope. Bubba's room. Nope. Finally I called her name. "Charis!" "What?" I walked into her room where the tiny voice came from. "What are you doing in here?" "Poop!" as she pointed to her diaper area. "Oh, you're pooping? Well let me know when you're done." I walked into the bathroom and sat down on the (closed) toilet to put a bag in the trashcan. She ran into the bathroom, yelling, "Pee pee! Pee pee!" And then she proceeded to push me off the toilet seat and tried to open it herself. I quickly took off her diaper and sat her on the potty, but we must have been too late. "All done." And off we went in search of a clean diaper. It could be months away, but she's making quicker progress than Cayman did as far as pottying is concerned!!
