First Ever Kids' Night

Tonight we hosted our first Kids' Night in our restaurant. I think it was a huge success! I couldn't believe it when we got in the van and realized we'd been at the store for two hours! It sure didn't seem like it. We wanted to do something big to kick things off, so our RMD (restaurant marketing director) decided to throw a birthday party for our cow! We had balloons, birthday cake, a clown who painted faces and made balloon animals, and birthday cards to decorate for the cow. And of course, we had to have the guest of honor at his party! I definitely failed when it came to taking pictures... Those kids.... My kids.... Let's just say they've been a handful this past week. I didn't have too much time to focus on pictures tonight at the restaurant. But we had fun nonetheless.

Decorating cards for the cow

Cayman LOVED coloring this time!

Cards I made during part of my time (officially) on the clock
working from home for Ian. Which I love. In case you were
wondering.

Our cool cake! (I'm guessing it's really supposed to say "Cow"
instead of "Chick-fil-A"

Happy Birthday pennant that we use for our
birthday parties as well.

Cayman being turned into a kitty. A very
manly kitty though.

Charis being painted for the first time

She "chose" a heart

She actually got a matching heart painted on her cheek, but
my photographer (aka - husband) ran off as if he had a
restaurant to run or something. Geez. ;)
We have been overwhelmed by God's blessings on our store. We truly owe it all to Him! We have a great team that's willing to learn and grow. We are enjoying serving our customers. And we're looking forward to serving our community and giving back each chance we get. We have experienced our fair share of challenges as well - running your own restaurant and raising two children (basically alone) is definitely not for the faint at heart. But thankfully, my husband doesn't have to depend on his own strength alone. (Otherwise he probably would have thrown in the towel the night that he didn't get to come home. Like, period.) I constantly have to remind myself that I'm not raising my kids alone, but I'm assisted by my sweet Savior...in boosts of needed energy...in patience with screaming children...in showing grace when it's needed. The Lord's mercies are new every morning, and we have definitely received our fair share of them during the past month! We're looking forward to seeing what the next month has in store!
