What We've Been Up To...

It has been entirely too long since I've posted something on here. I finally have a few minutes before I collapse into bed to post some pictures and gather some thoughts about what has been going on in the land of the Moodys.

Last week (Tuesday, Nov. 15) my mom and aunt met me and the kids in Lumberton, NC. My mom and dad asked if they could have the kids the week before Thanksgiving since I was already planning to go to Augusta for Thanksgiving. After MUCH thought and deliberation (yeah right!) I obliged. My mom also invited my niece, Harper, to spend the week with them since she's not in school yet and since the cousins rarely get to see one another. Cayman was in heaven all week long. He had so much fun.

I imagined my week alone going much differently than it did. I pictured myself doing some artwork that I've been postponing, cleaning the house real nicely before leaving for Thanksgiving, rotating the kids' toys and making a giveaway pile to get ready for Christmas, starting and finishing a desk project that I've been wanting to do ever since we moved in to our house. Needless to say, NONE of that was finished. I did, however, pretty much finish my Christmas shopping, planned some events and Christmas decorations with the RMD at the store, worked a busy lunch shift at the store and hosted a birthday party, spent an ENTIRE day with my lovely husband on a day date, salvaged an old door (bug-infested, unfortunately) to use as my desk top, painted the backdrop on a canvas I plan to use for hanging bows in Charis' room, decorated the store (with the help of some of our leadership team), put up our Christmas tree (an artificial tree for the first time in my life...last year we started with an artificial tree in our FL home, but we were given a real tree by a fellow CFA operator, so I still had a real tree), decorated some of our house, washed many loads of clothes...Oh. And slept in a little every morning! It was still a productive week...but I accomplished nothing on my initial to-do list. Oh well!

Meanwhile, here's what the kids were up to at Grammy and Big Al's house!

Eating, eating and more eating!

She looked so different by the time I saw her on Monday!

Baking pancakes with Grammy at the perfect sized table

Of course she had to make Mickey Mouse pancakes, and
Cayman was sure to tell me that Mickey had "chocolate eyes
and a marshmallow mouth."
Apparently Charis became fascinated with her toothbrush this
week. She begged for it everyday. Today, we realized
that not only was she gnawing on her toothbrush,
but she also was extremely whiney, and drooling like crazy.
A quick trip to CVS for some Ibuprofen perked her right up!

My favorite story from the kids' week with Grammy had to do with Harper and Cayman. Apparently they were pretending to be married one time. Harper came down the stairs carrying her purse. "I'm going shopping, honey. I'll be back soon." Cayman came down the stairs behind her, and said, "Here! You'll need this to tell you how long you can go shopping." He was carrying a toy tape measurer. I guess we better start working on the concept/tools of telling time! :) Close, buddy, really close!

More to come later...but right now I'm going to climb in bed next to my little buddy, Cayman. Sure do wish I was climbing in bed next to my hubby though! I hate being away from him! But I do love that he's so great about letting us go spend time with our families.
