Thankful for Friends!

Tonight was so much fun! I am so glad that Annette was "husbandless" for the evening too, because we finally got time to get the kids together and have some fun! :) (Andrew, her husband, was busy working at the church's event, Candyrama, and Ian was busy working at Chick-fil-A, so she and I tag-teamed tonight and had a blast!)

We started our evening at Chick-fil-A. Ian did a special where kids who came dressed in costume would get a free kids' meal. Cayman was SO EXCITED to see his friends and to have them all sit at the same table with him! He said, "Mom! All my friends are sitting with me!"When we left Chick-fil-A, we went to Candyrama! Of course Cayman wanted to go to all the bounce houses right away. But unfortunately he and Charis were too short for most of the bounce houses. They got to do a little one and stayed in for a few minutes. Then we went over to the preschool area and pretty much stayed there for the duration. They planned games that you could do with your children at home. So the first game was throwing balled up socks at a teddybear sitting in a chair. Cayman did great at that. Then there was a baby pool with rubber ducks floating around in it. The ducks had colored spots on the bottom, so you picked up a duck and tried to find its mate. Or you just picked up the ducks and threw them back in the water. Or you just splashed in the (freezing cold) water as if you're in the tub. Charis went back many times to this game! They also had a game where you rolled the dice and counted out legos to match the number on the die. Finally they had a matching colors game using construction paper and household items as well as make-your-own-bracelet using a pipecleaner and foam beads.

I then persuaded Cayman to try the hay maze. He was a little hesitant at first. But after we all made it through the first time, Cayman went back through that maze at least 7 more times! He loved it. Once I finally was able to pull Cayman away from the maze, we did the cupcake walk and enjoyed some yummy goodies. We met up with the Tates again and decided to head back to our neighborhood to let the kids do some real trick-or-treating (first time for both of my kids!) We walked for a while...long enough for Cayman to start complaining about his feet hurting! And long enough for Charis to ask "Iah" to pick her up! Isaiah was gentle-menly enough to guide her most of the night - whether holding her hand or carrying her (a short distance...)

A great time was had by all! Enjoy the pictures from our evening with great friends!

Not too sure about "Iah" at first...
