Wrapping Charis' Gifts

I seriously can't believe we did this today, but Cayman and I wrapped Charis' birthday gifts. For some reason, Charis turning one is much harder to believe than Cayman turning one. It really seems like one or two months ago that we were living with our best friends in Raleigh, waiting on Charis to make her debut and Ian to receive his first assignment with Chick-fil-A. But no. It was one YEAR ago already! Crazy, crazy, crazy.......

Anyways. Cayman wanted to help wrap Charis' birthday gifts. I had no wrapping paper and was not going to buy an entire roll to wrap two small gifts. So I decided Cayman could make his own wrapping paper using a paper bag we had in the pantry.

I cut off the bottom, laid it flat on the floor, gave him coloring utensils (his favorite is a ball point pen, of course...), and we started coloring! Then he "helped" me wrap her gifts. His fingers are great at holding paper.

Cayman doesn't quite understand the fact that Charis is having a birthday but he isn't. Whenever we talk about Charis having a party or Charis getting gifts, Cayman always says, "And Cayman too! In August." Good thing he knows his birthday month...too bad he doesn't realize it's still another 4 months away!

He was so sad today when the gifts were wrapped and he didn't get to open them right away! Oh...Saturday should be tons of fun when Cayman doesn't get any gifts! Haha!
