Happy Birthday, Baby Girl

Charis is 2!

How did that happen so quickly?!

To our Dear Sweet Charis:

You bring so much joy into our lives - all three of our lives! You and your bubby do argue and fight at times, but boy do y'all love each other! Every night before bed now, he yells from his room: "Goodnight Cawis! I love you!" And you yell back: "Good night! I love you too!" 

You have a tremendous vocabulary for a two year old. Just today you said, "Cank it up, Mama!" because you wanted to start the video in the van...and it has to be "cranked" up first! Sometimes the things you say make us laugh so hard. Other times, your saucy little attitude comes out through your words, and I don't laugh those times. You hate being disciplined, and often times in public, much to my embarrassment, you will start saying loudly after being caught disobeying, "Don't spank me mommy! Don't spank me!" Oh dear... What will we do with you crazy child? Your favorite thing to say though is your name. "Cawis Parka Moody" (Charis Parker Moody) Anytime you think someone is calling you something other than Charis, you say, "No. I'm Cawis Parka Moody." MY favorite thing that you still say (that I refuse to correct) is "I want to hold you, Momma." You say it whenever you want ME to hold YOU. I think it is so adorable, and I dread the day you figure out the right way to say it!

You rarely play with real toys, although you have just discovered how much fun blocks can be. But before you discovered blocks, you would play with really random things around the house. You love to find stickers - you take them all off and place them on your face or the floor or sometimes the furniture. You and your bubba have discovered how much fun "exploring" and pretending can be out in our backyard. I love to hear y'all pretending to be vikings - although I know you don't really know what Cayman is talking about, but you love being around him and doing what he's doing. You're not a huge fan of your riding toy, but you do love "painting" outside (with an old paintbrush and cup of water.) But your most favorite part of that activity is playing in the water. And sometimes sucking the water off the paintbrush. YUCK! You do a lot of yucky things...that usually have to do with putting yucky things in your mouth or touching worms or dead bugs outside that your brother will not EVER get near! 

You ADORE the cow at Chick-fil-A, and I think the cow adores you too. He will escort you all over the restaurant, either holding your hand or holding you! When we first moved here, you were still a little unsure about the cow, but now you LOVE him. Your face lights up whenever you see him. 

However. No one will ever make your face light up like your Daddy. You are a true Daddy's girl. You love snuggling with him, especially laying on his tummy when he's laying on the couch or bed. When Daddy comes home everyday, you and Cayman both SCREAM at the top of your lungs and basically tackle him at the front door. But you always linger for special hugs. 

We pray that you will know Jesus as your Savior at a young age. We pray that you will use all that energy for His good works. We pray that you will long to be a modest young lady and woman. And we pray that the man God has ordained as your husband will also know Jesus as his Savior at a young age and that you both will remain pure, that you will grow each day in your knowledge and love of your Savior, and that you will be set apart to do great things for His Kingdom.

We love you so much, little monkey!
