I've been inspired to start preparing more and more for homeschooling, especially since the public school year has started. We still have a couple of years until we're doing it full time. But Cayman has really shown such an interest in books and singing songs with motions, I've really been thinking about doing more learning activities with him.
Thanks to my new addiction, Pintrest, I've found so many ideas for preschool activities that are perfect for Cayman! Like this one...
There's a big blank spot on the left because I have pictures to laminate and then add velcro pieces so that Cayman can also match pictures to words. So far, he thoroughly enjoys just picking out the letters. I cannot believe how well he does with this activity! Tonight he did the words "frog" and "car." Other words I chose were zebra, elephant, Charis, mom, dad, etc, etc. I did realize though that I need to make a couple more cards - I don't have any words with the letters "q" or "k"... I'm thinking a king and queen are in order!
Love this! I've been making a list of learning objectives/goals for Rea this school year. She has beanbags with letters from her name...we lay them on the ground and spell her name hopscotch style. :)
