The kids and I have been spending a lot of time at the pool this summer! They both LOVE the water. Cayman totally swims all by himself now. He can dive from the side of the pool. He can dive down deep (up to 5 ft) for rings or dive sticks. He is just a little fish.
Charis loves the water too. She swims with her puddle jumpers really well! We're working on being safe around the pool though. She loves to jump, but she definitely does not practice safety while jumping. She jumps too close to the edge or the stairs...or right on top of other people! And she runs all the time. Literally. Through the house. To the van. By the pool. Everywhere. But it's most dangerous by the pool! We're working on it though!
Callie is not a huge fan of the pool. I think it's a little cool for her liking. The other day, though, she stayed in the water with me while I sat on the steps. She loves to stand now, so she just stood on the steps while I held her up. We didn't get all the way in though. Have I mentioned how much she loves playing in the bath now, though? She cries whenever it's time to get out. And she leans out of my arms towards the water whenever it's time to get in! Such a transformation from the first 5 months of her life. (She HATED baths. Screamed the ENTIRE TIME.)
