Making Bumpies!

While we were in Augusta, Ian surprised us (well, the kids really...) with picking up a boat! We have been looking at it for a while. A couple from our church was selling it for a great price. And it's the perfect size for our family right now. The first time Ian went to look at it and take it for a test drive, it had an oil leak. So for a while our plan to get a boat was put on hold. The couple fixed the issue thought, and Ian and Austin took the boat out while we were in Augusta. After a few minor hiccups, the boat was running like a dream! It has taken our kids a few trips out to get used to the boat. And unfortunately, our very first trip out on the river was not a very pleasant one. The water was pretty choppy, which created lots of BUMPIES (waves). Charis was terrified of the bumpies. Cayman was terrified of going fast. Callie hated having to wear a life jacket. So Callie was sitting in my life fussing. Charis was snuggled up close screaming because she was scared. Cayman at first was laying face down on the floorboard of the boat telling Daddy to slow down! Eventually he grasped onto my leg as we bounced our way down the river. :) We all survived. And decided that we would check the water conditions first before taking the boat out for a family ride! Now that they have gotten a little more comfortable, we have taken the kids out on the tube. We met up with some friends in their boat and anchored together so the kids could all swim. We pulled a couple of people on the wake board. We have plans to watch fireworks on the 4th of July from the boat as well as dock downtown at the riverfront and walk to watch movies out on the lawn. This will be so much fun this summer!
