Christmas Town at Busch Gardens

A few days after Christmas, we went with some sweet friends to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens. The theme park (in Williamsburg) transforms into a winter wonderland. The hillsides are covered in lit Christmas trees. There are tons of Christmas themed shows. Some of the rides are opened. I have never been to Busch Gardens before, so I don't know what it's like every other time of the year. But I have to admit, it was a lot of fun during Christmas! I think Cayman and Charis enjoyed the dinner show the best. We ate expensive pizza and fries in this HUGE building in the German part of the park. And right in the middle of supper, this band came marching in playing a Christmas carol. They marched right up to a stage that was in the center of the room, and they were followed by dancers and singers. The band's platform rose to the ceiling, leaving the area underneath them as a stage for the dancers and singers. Cayman and Charis were mesmerized the entire time! It was so adorable. They both loved clapping after each song. I just loved watching them watch the show!

The night that we went, it was pretty cold. Ian lost his toboggan (his FAVORITE toboggan as he told me a few times that night...) so the later it got, the colder he got! I was nice and warm in my puffy down coat (that I haven't worn since I was pregnant with Cayman!) Cayman LOVED riding the "roller coasters" as he called them. Charis, however, was not a huge fan. But I kind of made her ride stuff anyways. There was only one ride that she cried THE ENTIRE TIME. Oh well. She'll thank me one day...maybe?? Cayman got to drive a car for the first time (bumper cars), he rode in a hot air balloon, he rode in a time machine contraption or something?? - Charis and I rode with Cayman and Ian as well, everyone but me rode the carousel, Ian rode the big roller coaster with Juan (another operator in VA) while Melissa and I rode the train with the kids (another favorite). Charis cried the whole time on the little swings that go around in a circle. I think they rode around three times maybe, and everytime she'd scream and reach out for me to take her. What did I do you ask? Took pictures and video of course! Yet again. She'll thank me one day. :)

We had a great time! Hopefully we'll get free tickets again so we can go back next year!! :)
