The night after Ian's graduation we took Cayman to his first Braves' game. We got a hotel room in a hotel directly across the street from the stadium. Let me tell you...that is the way to go when you do a Braves game! After the game, we were already in our room and putting Cayman in the tub by the time some people were getting into their cars! I am spoiled now. Growing up whenever we would do Braves games, especially late ones, we wouldn't get home until the middle of the night! It was fantastic.
Mena (Ian's mom), Poppy (Ian's stepdad), and Uncle Seth (Ian's brother) all went with us to the game. We had great seats, thanks to Mena and Poppy scoping things out ahead of time online and choosing the perfect seats. They also got Cayman a Braves' hat (Ian bought him one during his time in FRL when they went to a Braves game one night, but once we tried it on Cayman, it was way too small...now it's Charis' hat!) Cayman asks to wear that hat everywhere! He loves it.
The game ended up being so much fun. The weather could not have been more perfect. I actually wore a light jacket most of the night! Unheard of in Hotlanta in the middle of July!!! The Braves won 11-1 making it their 10,000th win in the history of the franchise. So with all of those scores and hits, there was a lot of tomahawk-chopping going on, which made for one happy Cayman! He was so serious about his tomahawk chop - when Ian started doing it the wrong way, he said, "No daddy. Not like that. Like this. Watch the cow - he show you how to do it." (There was a humungous Chick-fil-A cow at the top of the stadium that led everyone in the tomahawk chops.) Whenever we talk about the game now, Cayman is always sure to bring that part up - "I do like it dis, but Daddy did it like dis."
And to top off the evening, there was a GREAT firework show!! Cayman loves fireworks and asks us at least once a month if he can see fireworks. He loved it. Poppy snuck Cayman some ice cream, and he got to eat popcorn and drink lemonade! Overall, I'd say we had one happy little fellow!
Unfortunately my camera died at the end of the graduation, so unfortunately I only had my phone to take pictures at the game!

The following day (Saturday), we had another big family get together because my late grandfather's sister (who's 90 years old) came to town for a visit. My uncle Tony slaughtered and cooked one of his pigs for the occasion. Best. Barbecue. Ever. Of all the barbecue I've ever eaten, nothing compares to Uncle Tony's. The weather warmed up a bit, but it was still a great day for being outside! We even played a little Whiffle Ball Homerun Derby. Cayman was in the baseball mood after watching his first Braves game. We had a great time!
