| Such a happy girl! Except for when she's unhappy... :) |
Callie is 4 months old! And she has been...for about 3 weeks now...haha!
At her 4 month checkup, Callie weighed 13lbs, 3oz. I just knew she was going to be around 15lbs! Shows you how much I know!
During this fourth month, her little personality has really started blossoming. She smiles all the time. She has definitely discovered her voice and can be very loud! She still loves her brother and sister, and they adore her too! Her and Cayman seem to have a bit of special bond. Cayman and Charis think it's so funny when her arms/hands flail around and "hit" them.
She's a great nurser, but she'll take a bottle when we need to give her one. I've discovered that I have no idea what kind of schedule she's on. I'm pretty sure it's a 3 or 4 hour schedule. But I don't have the time to keep up with that! If she's crying and it's been a while since I nursed, then I should probably feed her. If she's fussy, she needs a diaper change or she's ready for bed. She's a pretty easy baby, and we are truly blessed! Especially when it comes to sleeping! She sleeps all night long - depending on her last feeding of the night, she sleeps anywhere from 7-9am. (If I feed her around 9, she's up around 7. If I make her eat one last time around 11 before I go to bed, she sleeps later.)
During the week that the kids were out of town, we noticed that Callie definitely likes to be entertained. She was left alone in rooms a few times due to Ian and I working on our house projects. She cried. A lot. She hardly ever cries when Cayman and Charis are around all the time! I think she really likes having someone around and has become used to it! Or she was just grumpy all week. :) I'm going to stick with the thought that she missed Cayman and Charis because it's a sweeter sentiment.
She is SO CLOSE to rolling over. But she hates being on her tummy. So I know once she does start rolling over from back to tummy that she's going to be one mad baby! She loves holding onto little toys, and for the first time, we have a child that puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. If she has something in her hands, it's going straight to her mouth. Yikes!! I'm going to have to run the vacuum cleaner once every hour when she starts crawling around! Or have poison control on speed dial...
The doctor said at her appointment that we could go ahead and start on solids if we wanted to. We can even skip rice cereal and go straight to veggies. But I'm not ready! With Cayman, I practically begged to start feeding him! It seemed so much fun then. Now, I don't want my baby to grow up too quick! I'm enjoying all the snuggle time I get while nursing. And... I'm just not ready for the extra work feeding requires. (Yes, I just admitted that publically...haha!) It's so messy. We don't have any kind of chair for her to sit in. And it would be one more task to add to our crazy schedule right now. So. I think we'll wait a little longer. Until she starts seeming unsatisfied with mommy milk. :)
