Quick Update...

I just saw on my sister-in-law's blogroll that it has been a full week since I've posted something...anything! Yikes! Life is going by much too fast. Callie is going to be graduating high school before I know it. But for now, she's just laying on the couch next to me pooping away...in a diaper, thankfully!

We have had a lot going on. Which is why I haven't had time to blog. Ian and I celebrated our 7th anniversary by getting a sitter for the older two and heading up to VA for a special celebratory dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Yummy! It was our first time going. And it was probably a BIG mistake. Because it was so delicious. We didn't eat our dessert that night because we were stuffed. I was so excited when I remember the next night that I had a special treat in the fridge (post kids' bedtime.) Oh my goodness. The Reese's Peanut Butter cheesecake was SOOOOOO GOOD. The best dessert I've had in quite some time!

Which leads me to the second thing we've been busy doing...GOING TO THE GYM! :) Gotta work off all those calories! Actually, this time around at the gym, I'm not focusing on weightloss. Although it would be nice to completely lose the baby bulge... I'm "training" for a sprint triathlon this summer that I'd like to do with two of my brothers and Ian. I haven't officially signed up for it because I want to make sure that I can at least do half of the swimming requirement (1/4 mile) and the running (5K). YIKES! I downloaded an app on my phone to help me with the running - it's called Couch to 5K. It, along with trying to bike 13 miles and swimming laps is kicking my tail! Today, I did my running...which, if I must be honest, isn't really running...and I can't "jog" straight through yet...and then I went to swim some laps in the pool. Swimming laps is so much different than "swimming in the lake or pool." Ugh. When I started off, I knew for sure that I could at least do the swimming part of the triathlon! Looks like the bike will be my saving grace. Hopefully. :)

When the weather was a little warmer, we were spending a lot of time outside. We love going to this one park near our house because Charis can play on the playground, and there are plenty of sidewalks for Cayman to ride his bike. The park is quite a ways off of the main road so I don't have to worry about traffic, and the "park" is actually a ball field complex, so there's nobody there right now. So I don't have to worry about him riding into any strangers. It's a win-win! The kids also have something to do in our large backyard now, so I can send them outside to play without them running in 5 minutes later talking about being bored. And they're still unable to open any of the gates in the backyard so I don't have to worry about them sneaking off to the neighborhood playground near our house like they did once before...in their PJs...without shoes on... (Where are their parents?!? haha)

Let's see...what else has been going on... Lots of laundry. Lots and lots of laundry. It sometimes even gets folded. Plenty of diaper changes. Charis even tries to help out by changing her own diaper occasionally. That's not a whole lot of fun. We are definitely working towards potty training with her. But not necessarily going very quickly. Charis has her own agenda most of the time. She rarely thinks to inform us what it is. ;)

What hasn't been going on? Picture taking! Argh!! We've got to get better at using the "real" camera for pictures.

Ok. So maybe someone has been taking pictures.
Just not me. (This picture makes me laugh so
hard. And I just found it on my phone while
looking for some to post here! Too funny!)
