I didn't take a picture yesterday. Or today. Added to the list of things to do tomorrow...
But my sweet baby girl is 2 months old!
We went Monday for her 2 month check-up. Overall she is very healthy and growing like a champ! There were a couple of minor concerns that we went over, but nothing that the doctor is incredibly concerned about right now.
First of all, Callie weighs 11lbs, 2oz.
She is 22 inches long.
She was put on Zantac to help with reflux issues. She spits up quite a bit and acts like it's painful for her. Hopefully this will help with that. We also are changing her eating schedule a little so that she eats less more often. However, that schedule works best when we are at home all day and don't have much going on.
The heart murmur detected at her 2 week visit has corrected itself. Praise the Lord!
The other thing Dr. Robinson is concerned about is her eyes. When he examined them with his spotlight, he noticed that they don't line up correctly. Or they don't focus together. The way that I am able to tell that they don't focus properly is that when I'm looking into her eyes, the reflection of an overhead light is at different spots on her eyes. (Is this making any sense?!) Dr. Robinson believes they will correct themselves once her eye muscles strengthen a bit more. If for some reason they don't, around 4-6 months, we will visit a specialist who will place a patch over the dominant eye so the weaker eye has a chance to strengthen. (I think that's how he worded it all.) So we'll see what happens.
She is wearing 0-3 month clothes right now. Size 1 diapers (which are quickly getting smaller and smaller). She nurses every 2-3 hours during the day. Some nights she'll go 6 hours overnight!! Woohoo! She has also started smiling at us, which often times makes my eyes water! It's amazing how much you can love someone you've only known for 2 months!! Cayman still ADORES Callie. And so does Charis. Charis loves when Callie's eyes are open :) and when Callie is awake, Charis will go to her and talk to her. "Hey pretty girl. What are you doing pretty girl? You're so pretty, yes you are!" It's hilarious. Cayman is just now learning how to "talk" to Callie. To me, it's so obvious the difference between male and females, even at this young of an age! Charis is very motherly. Cayman is doting, but Charis is a mommy. Already.
In fact, she is so motherly, that she has started changing her own diaper. I'm pretty sure she'll be potty trained by March. That's my goal. I'm not sure I'll be able to take much more poop and pee on the floor. (And that's not because she's actively potty training and wearing big girl panties. Nope. She just takes her diaper off when she's wet it. Yep. That's my girl. My little momma.)
